A 35-year-old man has died after suffering a heart attack at a building site in Leeds earlier today.
Emergency services were called to the Leeds building site in the Quarry Hill area of the city after becoming aware of a man suffering a medical episode.
The man was not at work at the time, and was believed to be in a lift when he became unwell.
The tragic incident, which happened at a site close to The Playhouse at Quarry Hill in Cecilia Steet, saw a number of emergency service vehicles descend on the area with the man given CPR before an on-site defibrillator was used.
He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he was deemed to be in a critical condition but despite the best efforts of doctors and nurses, he has since died.
A spokesman for Caddick Construction said: “Emergency services were called this morning (Friday) to the SOYO site in Leeds after reports of a 35 year old sub-contractor suffering a suspected heart attack.
“He was not working at the time and was at ground floor level. He was given CPR and an on-site defibrillator was used before he was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he unfortunately passed away.
“His next of kin were informed and our thoughts are with them at this tragic time.
