Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wished Ganguly a speedy recovery on Twitter and wrote he suffered “a mild cardiac arrest.”
BCCI President and former Indian cricket skipper Sourav Ganguly has been admitted to a hospital in Kolkata following complaints of “uneasiness”.
According to reports, Ganguly was at the gym when he felt “suddenly ill”. He was thereafter rushed to Woodlands Hospital and has been admitted in the ICU. He is suspected to have suffered a heart attack and is likely to undergo a heart procedure.
Sports writer Boria Majumdar said in a tweet: “He felt dizzy when he was in the gym and he went to Woodlands to get the Tests done. That’s when it came to light that there was a cardiac issue and the hospital has now created a three-member board with Dr Saroj Mondal who will perform the procedure. @SGanguly99 get well soon.”
Jay Shah, secretary of BCCI, tweeted that Sourav Ganguly is stable and “responding well to treatment.”

Banerjee tweeted: “Sad to hear that @SGanguly99 suffered a mild cardiac arrest and has been admitted to hospital. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family!”
Ganguly had recently visited West Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankhar but had said it was a “courtesy call.”
