On Tuesday, Pune recorded its highest ever deaths in a day after 34 people lost their battle to the virus, taking the toll so far to 763. The district also recorded 739 fresh cases — 22,429 cases have been discovered so far. Of them, 13,765 have recovered with 667 patients being discharged on Tuesday.

A46-year-old man from Magalwar Peth was reported dead at Sassoon General Hospitals after fighting the virus for 20 days. His cause of death is said to be acute respiratory distress
A69-year-old woman from Shramik Vasaht passed away at AICTS hospital. She suffered from ARDS with cytokine storm syndrome and severe COVID-19-positive pneumonia. The patient also had diabetes and hypertension. Another, 54-year-old man from Kondhwa was reported death at Bharati Hospital. He passed away due to septic shock with multiple-organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) and COVID-19-positive pneumonia. The patient also had hypertension and diabetes.
A 50-year-old woman from Kondhwa was reported dead at Kashibai Navale Hospital due to ARDS with MODS. She was also suffering from uncontrolled diabetes and hypertension.
Maharashtra reported, 4,878 fresh cases and 245 deaths among positive patients on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 1,74,761 and death toll to 7,855. Also, 1,951 patients were discharged after treatment and full recovery from the virus on Tuesday, taking the total number of patients discharged till date to 90,911and active cases to 75,979 in the state.
