Nueces County reported 169 new COVID-19 cases and 11 related deaths on Thursday.
The new cases bring the county’s total to 16,403. They are still under investigation to determine their transmission.
Of the new cases, 126 were confirmed positives and 43 were probable positives. There have been a total of 13,185 confirmed positives and 3,218 probable positives.
The county reported 11 new COVID-19-related deaths Thursday afternoon, bringing the total to 270.
The 11 patients were seven men and four women, with two in their 50s, three in their 60s, three in their 70s, two in their 80s and one in his or her 90s. They had pre-existing conditions, including hypertension and diabetes.
There have been 805 hospitalizations; 259 are currently in the hospital. There are 102 in the intensive care unit. There have been 7,920 recoveries.
The county will hold a COVID-19 briefing on Friday at 5 p.m.
