Myles Stephenson’s dad has won his Covid battle after the virus landed him in hospital.
I’m A Celebrity and X Factor star Myles revealed that he’d welcomed Terry from the hospital after spending weeks being treated by doctors.
Sharing a snap of his dad leaving the hospital, with masked up medical staff giving a thumbs-up to the camera, Myles told that Terry had nearly suffered a heart attack, and had refused to be put into an induced coma or on a ventilator.
“22 days in HDU he is now coming home!” an overjoyed Myles wrote.
“He refused a induced coma and ventilator which he didn’t tell us because he knew we would follow the doctors requests.
“Doctors also told step mum he had a near heart attack! Nevertheless he is coming home.”
He added: “Thank you everybody that prayed and messaged me your concerns. Your daily check ups made it easier to get through the days!
“And a special thank you to ward 4 of Stoke mandeville hospital and everyone who helped save his life. Love you all.
“Welcome home Big Pops.”
Myles had previously shared a snap of himself and Terry in times past, asking fans to pray for his dad when he was hospitalised with the bug.
“Nothing has EVER hospitalised him until today!” he penned, “I want to reiterate COVID is no joke! But yeah, prayer for my best mate and stay safe!”
And Myles himself had expressed concerns about catching it, after a snowboarding accident left him with a weakened immune system.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain, he explained: “Because my spleen was ruptured, it means my immune system is quite low.
“And I damaged my lungs as well, there was about 1500ml of blood in and around my lungs. So my respiratory system isn’t the greatest either.
“Because as we all know the virus attacks the respiratory system and breathing, so I’ve got to be pretty cautious around other people.”
