Didcot's Indian Dream owner Hasnath Miah suffers heart attack

GENEROUS customers have set up a fundraising page after the much-loved owner of an Indian restaurant suffered a heart attack.

Hasnath Miah, who runs Indian Dream in Didcot, was rushed to hospital following the medical emergency.

Mr Miah has been giving away free meals to NHS staff, police and other key workers from the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

He also donated £500 to food banks in Didcot and Abingdon after the community reimbursed him for a phone that was stolen from the restaurant.

Customers are now giving back once more, with £125 raised on a gofundme page in just four hours.

Barbara Jones said: “Hope he gets better soon, but he must rest, he has done so much for the Didcot community, now we must support him.”

Hannah Rachel added: “Wishing a speedy recovery! Please don’t feel that you have to get back into free food if it is going to overwhelm you and your health!

“Our health and well being comes first! You have done an absolutely fantastic job throughout these long months!”

Theresa Youngs commented: “Look after yourself Hasnath, You’ve done a great thing for the community. But your health is important.”
